On this week’s Dropout Nation Podcast, a viewing of The Help leads me to think about how we must overhaul education to end the economic-based segregation that is leaving poor and minority communities — and America as a whole — behind. Low-quality teaching, abysmal curricula, the lack of choice, and cultures of mediocrity are perpetuating a class divide as pernicious as Jim Crow segregation.
