On this week’s Dropout Nation Podcast I reflect on the time I spent this Memorial Day with my nephew and niece and discuss why it is so important to overhaul American public education. All children, especially those from our poorest families and communities, need cultures of genius that can help them hone the seven executive functions they begin developing almost from birth. And building high-quality Pre-K programs won’t work if the rest of our education system is incapable of fostering continuous student achievement.
